How Omega 3 helps wound healing and scars

Recent studies have demonstrated how Omega-3 fatty acids can prevent wound infections and can improve early wound healing and after several days decreases the deposition of collagen, preventing extensive scarring.

These fatty acids have been proven to play a key role in cell membrane structure and anabolic events during skin tissue reconstruction. It is possible that omega-3 and omega-6 PUFAs modulate or enhance local inflammatory response at wound areas, accelerating the healing process.(1)

Sacha Inchi, the hero ingredient in Botanico Vida's Omega Oil is the earth's richest plant source of Omega 3, 6 and 9, with 84% Essential Fatty Acid content.  However most importantly it is very high in all important Omega 3.   The only other plant containing comparable levels of Omega 3 is is Flax Seed but this smells so pungent you cannot apply to your skin. Thankfully Sacha Inchi is virtuously odourless and can therefore be applied topically and our skin can reap the benefits of this phenomenal, healing oil.
