The Vegan Society:

The Vegan Trademark is the authentic international vegan standard and is managed by The Vegan Society; the charity that created the word 'vegan' back in 1944. Their dedicated and experienced vegan team check each product application against specific criteria, working with manufacturers and suppliers across a range of fields to ensure that every product meets the highest vegan standards. The Vegan Trademark for Botanico Vida is renewed on a yearly basis to ensure they have the most up to date information on all of our products.

The Leaping Bunny:

This is the globally recognised gold standard for cruelty free cosmetics, personal care, household and cleaning products and demonstrates that a brand is genuinely committed to removing animal testing form its supply chain. Botánico Vida believes that there is no basis upon which animals should suffer to create beauty products. We are proud to be Leaping Bunny approved. A global programme Leaping  Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements. Our supplier monitoring system is also independently audited.   

 

ECOCERT:

ECOCERT strive to enable production processes that respect the environment,  socially responsible sectors, and better product quality and safety. All of these elements are essential to address today's economic, social and environmental challenges in order to build tomorrow's world.

Botanico Vida is proud to be a recognised by ECOCERT through our commitment to purchase our key ingredient, Sacha Inchi, from The Omega Project, established in 2001 by the Peruvian government. Every purchase of Omega Oil contributes directly to the reforestation of the Amazon and to improve the lives of those living in farming communities in the Peruvian Amazonia.

So far, fifty-five farmers’ associations, twenty-five collection centres and one unit for oil production have been created through the Omega project.

Responsible Sourcing and Packaging:

We are proud that our product and packaging is manufactured in the UK from recyclable materials. 

Our product is 73% organic and the majority of our ingredients are Fair-Trade certified. We source the very best quality ingredients available, with the highest environmental credentials.
